Joe Aivazian brings nearly 18 years of coaching experience across travel baseball and summer and fall programs throughout the area. Over the past 12 years, he has also worked with three high school programs, helping players grow and continue on to junior college, four-year college, and professional baseball.

A Baseball Family

Baseball runs deep in Joe’s family. Both of his sons played in high school and college, and one is currently pitching at the Division I level at Santa Clara University while completing his master’s degree. That experience gives Joe a personal understanding of the dedication required to balance athletic development and academic goals.

From College Park to the Big Leagues

At College Park High School, Joe coached Christian Encarnacion-Strand, who went on to play junior college baseball in Arizona and at Oklahoma State before being drafted by the Minnesota Twins. Encarnacion-Strand now plays for the Baltimore Orioles. As a close family friend, Joe has valued the opportunity to watch that journey unfold.

See the Field. Anticipate the Play.

Joe currently serves as an assistant coach at Berean Christian High School. His work has often focused on hitters and outfielders, while his background as a catcher gives him a broad view of the game. Playing behind the plate taught him to read the field, anticipate how a play may develop, and understand the decisions that shape every inning.

More Than the Next At-Bat

Throughout his coaching career, Joe has continued learning from the players, families, fellow coaches, and mentors who have shared the game with him. He values every opportunity to contribute to an athlete’s development in the classroom and on the field.

His goal is to keep contributing to the program and serve as a positive mentor to the players and families he works with—helping them build confidence, grow their understanding of the game, and prepare for what comes next.
